Which study suits me and what do I want to be when I grow up? As a kid, I was obsessed with old movies and loved going to the theatre to see musicals. After graduating from Columbia College in Chicago, I took some jobs as an actor but was eager to learn some new skills and became a yoga teacher. I kept searching for new ways to develop myself and also dreamed of living abroad
for a while. Because of my Dutch family roots, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Dutch studies in the Netherlands.

Ever since I became disabled, I am on a mission

Since I broke my back and became disabled, I am on a mission to educate and train people on this topic. It’s my dream to be the go-to person for disabled students at the university and to create more knowledge on this topic for university staff. I want to make people aware that disability is not an individual issue but a collective one that lies at the
core of the way we care for each other.

I enjoy delving into global challenges

Me and my family lived abroad for 9 years and I wanted to rediscover my home country of the Netherlands. So I decided to follow the Bachelor’s programme Liberal Arts & Sciences in the Hague. This programme was the perfect fit for me because of its international character. I really enjoy delving into global challenges, ranging from politics to economics
and from climate issues to women's rights.
