This programme focuses on psychological processes and the consequent effects on behaviour. The master’s programme has ten specialisations you can choose from:

Career

Job opportunities include being a psychologist in a medical centre, nursing home, psychiatric hospital or forensic clinic, school counsellor, lecturer/ researcher at an university, medical centre or research institute, human resources expert, marketing adviser, policy maker or adviser for government and municipal services.

Best preparatory bachelor’s

BSc in Psychology with advanced courses (at least 30 EC) at a third-year bachelor’s level on topics pertaining to the preferred master’s specialisation within the MSc in Psychology. A level of knowledge of statistics equivalent to the courses within the BSc in Psychology at Leiden University (at least 20 EC in statistics courses). Pursuing a PhD in Psychology is also an option.

English proficiency**

IELTS: 6.5 where each separate constituent score must be at least 6.0 or
TOEFL (internet-based): 90, where each separate constituent score must be at least 20.
