Over 50 international secondary diplomas are eligible for admission to Leiden University’s bachelor’s programmes. Check per programme for specific requirements.

2 register

Make an account in Studielink from October 1st. Add the programme(s) of your choice there. Around this time, orient yourself about student housing in Leiden and The Hague.

3 Gather

Gather the required documents

You need several documents to apply for a bachelor’s programme at Leiden University such as your passport and transcripts/diploma. Plan ahead to have these ready when you apply.

4 Submit your application

Submit your application prior to the deadline

After registering in Studielink, complete and submit the Leiden University online application form(s), and pay the application fee.  If your programme has a selection process, there will be additional steps to follow.

For programmes with a numerus fixus, you must apply before January 15th. For the Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges programme at LUC The Hague, there is an Early Bird deadline of December 1st, but you can continue to apply until March 15th. For programmes with compulsory matching, the deadline is May 1st. If you require a visa or residence permit to study in the Netherlands (most non-EU/EEA citizens), you must apply before 1 April. Be sure to check your programme details for your deadline.
