Over 50 international secondary diplomas are eligible for admission to our bachelor’s programmes. Check per programme for specific requirements.

2. Register in Studielink

Create an account in Studielink from October 1st. Add the programme(s) of your choice there. Around this time, start exploring student housing options in Leiden and The Hague.

3   Gather

3. Gather the required documents

You need several documents to apply for a bachelor’s programme such as your passport and transcripts/diplomas. Plan ahead to have these ready when you apply.

4   Submit your application

4. Submit your application prior to the deadline

After registering in Studielink, complete and submit the Leiden University online application form(s), and pay the application fee. If your programme has a selection process, there will be additional steps to follow.

For programmes with a numerus fixus, you must apply before January 15th. For the Liberal Arts and Sciences: Global Challenges programme at LUC The Hague, there is an Early Bird deadline of December 1st, but you can continue to apply until March 15th. For programmes with compulsory matching, the deadline is May 1st. If you require a visa or residence permit to study in the Netherlands (most non-EU/EEA citizens), you must apply before 1 April. Be sure to check your programme details for your deadline.

5. Prepare for your studies at Leiden University

Congratulations, you have completed all the steps and will (hopefully) finish your enrollment at Leiden University! This includes applying for your visa/residence permit, if applicable. Check your emails (and junk folder) regularly, and follow all instructions.

Make sure to register for the introduction weeks and kick off your studies in Leiden or The Hague with a great start!
